You see a woman with beautiful nails. Her nail polish is beginning to chip. Turn on? Turn off? Does it matter to you?
My wife hasn't painted her nails much lately since the little one (the baby, not me!) is teething and sucks on her fingers all the time. But when she has painted her nails and the polish chips, it bothers her. Sometimes she touches it up. I hate when she does this since you can see where the touch-up is. I prefer she just takes all the nail polish off or leaves the chips. I honestly find beautiful nails with chipped polish to be quite sexy.
What do you think?

No 1 turnoff in my book. Even worse than uneven nail lengths.
Rather remove ALL the polish and leave the nails nude or re-apply the nailpolish.
Also don't like it when one of the ten nails DOESN'T have nail polish on.
For me, it's all about the presentation. Length is also a factor, but not so much as presentation.

mmmmmmm.......I don't recall seeing a question like this before, a little different for sure. Well if its just the normal chips on the very edge of the tip's from normal wear and tear, like a day or so before a scheduled manicure I think it still looks sexy, attractive and alluring....it's still a turn on but. When it starts to get's around an 1/8 inch or more white free edge showing and or scattered chips on the nail bed it get's a little less sexy, attractive and alluring. At this stage in my opinion, they start looking shabby, neglected and unappealing to the eye . As you mentioned, touching them up just isn't the same and when she find's the time....remove the polish and move on. In all fairness to the LNBs :) ....being a guy, I'll never know the maintenance headaches and pain's involved in keeping long fingernails looking beautfiul and sexy and I applaud all you ladies with long nails beit natural, salon, enhanced etc. on the time, money, and attention you spend on your long nails  . THANK YOU ALL very much and we never say it enough, it is greatly appreciated by all of us :D .

I agree with Stanton. I like woman to care for the nails, so better remove all en start again. Otherwise it gives an uniterested look.

I usually look forward to the chipping because I know it is time to change the color. If one tip is a bit chipped, I delete them all and apply another kind of polish ( I have way too many and they would be wasted if I did not use all of them). But when I see other girls with several nails chipped, it is  . I wish they took better care of their nails. But I am a perfectionist!

I'm in total agreement with everyone. When my wife's nail polish is chipping, she will pick away at them. But, as she tells me, that it because it's bad polish. And to the delight of me and most or all of you, she will strip 'em down and re-paint them and finish with a clear coat. Not much for length but I love em!

I hate chipped nail polish, especially when people leave it like that for many days. Just take it off! It only takes a few seconds. I'd rather see unpolished nails than chipped polish.

Good topic Pill,
Chipped nail polish reminds me of the crack-whores I used to prosecute when I was in misdemeanor division.
Total turnoff.
Nothing like a strung-out skank w/ missing teeth and chipped nail polish to turn off the sex drive.

It could be sexy, if the nails are long of course. It depends on the shape of the nail and colour of the nail polish. When my girlfriend is growing her nails and wearing red polish it looks like canadian manicure when the tips are visible. Im glad that she still got her teeth left..

Ahh...yes...there we go. Ed, that may just change the mind of those who don't believe that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Furthermore, I don't mind chipped nails because it partially exposes the naked nail which lies beneath. As much as I like my wife to occasionally paint her nails, when she does, and the paint doesn't chip for close to a week, I start to hope it will....I just miss the unpainted nails. But it's all good.

Agreed, Steve. But in my neck of the woods, there's plenty of women with more nails than teeth.

Hello! the teeth statement was just a sign of my disagreement with spectator. It's a sad thing that that crack-whores are walking around with their missing teeth and chipped polish with the purpose turn off spectators sex drive..
Let me say like this..I have more sympathy for the crack-whores than Spectators "problems"
Sorry if I crossed any lines!
