Hi All ~
Thought I'd invite anyone around to join me in the Fremont St. Cafe (aka GT Chat) for a cup of coffee this morning. :)

Well, I got to the cafe yesterday, just had enough time to say Hi to all the coffee drinkers, then she froze on me... I rebooted twice but no luck... so I had to make my own coffee.... we'll try again one day...

p.s. Is this something that regularly happens?

I cant' document exact reasons for it, but we all seem to get kicked from the chatroom from time to time.

I do beleive that if u surf for a time, then come to the chat, you'll get booted quicker because of your cache files building up and getting full. I've read that theory regarding other chat software in the past. I have used 4 or 5 different ones over the past 10 years for our purposes and that seems to be the main reason.

If you can clear your cache, or come to the chat fresh without surfing, you'll last a lot longer in there.

I don't think we can blame the software of the chat. After all, some rarely get booted and some never get booted, so their computers overcome the problems. I just changed to a new HP computer four weeks ago and found a great difference in the frequency of getting kicked, usually twice in a four hour stint in the chat is now average. Before it was 6 or 8 times over the same period.

And let me take the time to thank Tig and Shel for providing host services in the chat on Sundays, we all appreciate it.
