OK...I thought this would be a good idea. Maybe it can even get stickied?

But, let's create a list of all the movies (NOT INCLUDING PORN) that we know of which have long nails. No need for clips from the movies if you don't have them. Just list the one's you know...

Here are mine (I'll add more if I remember them)...

101 Dalmatians- Glenn Close as Cruella sports some nice ones

102 Dalmatians- Same as 101 Dalmatians

It Could Happen to You- Rosie Perez

Trial & Error- Alexandra Wentworth has some nice natural nails which grow as the movie progresses

Batman Returns- Catwoman obviously.

I've always love Erika Eleniak long red nails in Under Siege and Kathy Bakers frosty pink coloured long nails in Edward Scissorhands. I suppose that both women are very feminine and that is a very big plus because their nails compliments them just as much.

Of course, pls don't forget Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Kate Capshaw and her very nice real beautiful manicured fingernails. At the beginning of the film however she was wearing long fake red nails, still gorgeous though :D especially in her red dress...

Elizabeth Berkley in Show Girls weren't too bad, although her nails changed lengths many times and were never as long as the photo ads for the film.

In Monkey Bone, a beautiful girl dressed as a Cat has long black fingernails, although there were never enough close ups, she was fantastically gorgeous though!!! definate must see.

Well, that's all I can think of at the top of my head.

The Prince Of Tides - Barbara Striesand has and outstanding french set of nails that makes the movie worth watching. Some of the longest that I've seen her sport. She also has long red nails in The Way We Were and brown nails in The Main Event. Barbara is the long nail queen of the screen in terms of # of movies on a consistant basis.

And she is not alone. She has a side kick that also is sporting about 2" nails. About 2/3 of the way through the movie, the nails are dropped ( :mad: ) but even with that turn of events, this is a nail lovers dream movie. <br clear="left">

Dolly Parton is probably 2nd to Babs (in quantity) with great nail movies including 9 to 5, Straight Talk, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Rhinestone

Those are just some of the movies that come to mind. If I can think of any others, I'll post them as I recollect them. :)

Okay, my list is as follows:

Edward Scissorhands - the avon lady (Kathy Baker), my personal favourite LNB movie. Lovely colour, perfect length, and oh so sexy! Highly Recommended!!

Volunteers - Oriental woman with what looked like really long, really sharp, and very dangerous metal nails, and they didn't look like something attached to her fingers either, they were actually her nails!!! Would love to see some clips of them from this movie.

Friday - movie with Ice Cube and a young Chris Rock. Ice Cube's (supposed) girlfriend has some really long redish-pinkish nails. Not much by way of real close-ups but you do get to see a good amount of them, and you ALWAYS see them when she is on screen. Her character is a little disconcerting and abrasive, but the nails make-up for that. Cannot remember if she makes an appearance in the Sequel NEXT FRIDAY. Highly recommended!!!

GalaxyQuest - Sigourney Weaver, very nice silvery nails, but not alot of closeups. Sigourney looks stunning in this movie, and postively voluptuous!!
This is definately not the Ripley we know...

The Players Club - Alot of sexy nails in here, but two characters stand out. The lead actress has some really stunning silver poilshed nails that have a nice curve about them. The main villainess has some really long and curvy nails, longer than the lead actress, mostly painted in red. Both sets of nails get decent screen time, but as the norm in Hollywood, no real closeups. Highly recommended!!!

She-Devil - Merryl Streep has stunning pink oval nails. There is a cool scene where she breaks a nail, and you see a great close-up of her nails!! Very nicely done!!

Shrek 2 - Fairy good Mother has the most amazing nails I have ever seen for a cartoon character, even better than alot of real women's nails!!!

X-Men 2 - Lady Deathstike (Kelly Hu) has pretty nice metallic silver nails, if you discount the claws (which are not really long versions of her nails if you look carefully). Unfortunately, not alot of scenes showing off her nails

BAPS - Started out really wonderful with Halle berry and her co-actress wearing really long and sexy nails, but disappointing that they disappeared towards the end of the movie.

Runaway Bride - A friend of Julia Robert's character in this movie has some very nice long red nails. Again, not much by way of close-ups, but you are able get decent shots of them.

Showgirls - Have not seen this movie recently, but do remember that Elizabeth Berkley's nails were quite curvy and was mostly polished in a silvery / clear colour.

The Cookout - Lead Character's cousin has some nice curvy nails with some nice nail art on them. There is a nice scene where she flicks her nails at another actress, resulting in some nice nail sound-effects!! another actress in the movie also has some decent white polished nails, but very little screen time is given to these nails. Funny Movie though, and Highly Recommended!!!

Taxi - Queen Latifah has some nicely manicured nails here, and there are a few decent close-ups, but not much to write home about. Still, she looks good with sexy nails!!!

Elektra - Main villianess has some sexy, black, long and curved nails, and they get "ok" screen time.

Inu Yasha: Affections Touching Across Time - Female lead Kagome becomes possessed by the movies villian and grows glowing gold claws. Some great close shots.

Female readers - you might be also interested that title character Inu Yasha is a half demon/half human has claws.

X/1999 - Villianess has long red nails. Some good close ups.

Wicked City - Female lead has nails which she can make longer at will. Great close shots.

Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaia - Some shots of a cat girl with 1/2 inch claws.

Isa Andersen is a demoness who seducess and kill men with her 2 inches black and curved nails.
The main title of this movie is night angel or dark angel... I can´t remember it very well but I remember the claws ;)

The new flick out, "Domino" has got some great nails courtesy of the actress Mo'nique. Plenty of closeups of those talons too.

And in general, movies from the 'early 60s tend to have great nails — along with figure-hugging pencil skirts and vampy spike heels. Fetish heaven!

Boomerang - Robin Givens has some nice nails here. Sometimes painted white or red. Some decent close-up'ish shots here (Eye-lash scene with Eddie Murphy is a nice one :) ).

Staying Alive - Co-actress has some nice long nails here. No real close-ups to speak of though... :(

Don't be a menace to South Central... - Actress in this Wayan's brother's ghetto-spoof has some sexy long nails, if not very fake. Obviously a reference to the girl who sports similar nails in Friday.

Best Little Whorehouse in Texas - Dolly at her "busty" best here, and her nails were in peak condition as well :D

Still everyone sleeps on this movie: Dance Hall Queen, you see the lead actress with nice nails. Also the sexy outfits specially made for Bubbling' are nice and sexy. In Hip Hop and Ragga-culture a lot of women always wear long nails.

hi, there is one more movie which should really be in your list just because it's penelope cruz. in the film 'Waking Up in Reno', penelope plays a expensive hooker and sports lovely long white french manicure, not your average length either, these were quite long.

they are worth a look even though she only had about 5 mins of film time :(

there were some nice shots where she's smoking a ciggy too for all you smoking fans :D

Van Helsing - Dracula's wives have stunning nails when they are in human form. No real close-ups, but you do see enhough of them to make out they are quite nice. No polish to speak of on them, but very nice nonetheless

LIFE OR SOMETHING LIKE IT Angelina Jolie sports a very nice and very long rounded off french manicure. She is the star of the movie so there are many many shots of theses beauties! A must see for any nail lover.

MORTAL KOMBAT ANIHILATION (AKA MK 2) Not very much scenes of any nails in this movie, but there is one closeup where Kitana's nails are pretty nice and long.

DENNIS THE MENACE Again not many shots of nails here but there is a scene where a snotty lady in an office taps her long red nails along a countertop.

POISON IVY 2 Jaimee Pressley has some beautiful nails in this movie. Again this is a movie where the LNB is the star so there are some great shots. Her nails aren't extremely long but her long nail base makes for some beauties.

BARB WIRE Very crappy movie but it does have Pam Anderson and her always french manicured nails. Not many great shots, but there are a few.

SCARY MOVIE 3 First 5 minutes of the film again has Pam and her nails. There is one nice shot of them here.

TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT Jada Pinkett sports some nice pink nails in this movie, and they are pretty long.

BORDELLO OF BLOOD Angie Everhart sports some awesome nails here, lots of shots of them. Also many of the other vamp chicks have long nails.

JASON GOES TO HELL First 10-15 minutes of movie has a sexy FBI agent with long french nails. Some good closeups too!

WISEGIRLS Mariah Carey has the most amazing french I've ever seen her sport. Again this is a movie where the LNB is the star so there are many great shots of her and her nails. One awesome scene if only for sound would be her tapping her nails on a glass door. Closeups follow.

DON'T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER'S DEAD Christina Applegate's nails are absolutely stunning in this film. Of course she is the star and her nails get plenty of screen time. I couls look at these nails over and over.

VIEW FROM THE TOP In the first half of the film Kelly Preston's nails make an appearance thoughout numerous scenes. Very nice long white nails.

QUEEN OF THE DAMNED Aaliyah has gorgeous talons throughout this movie even though she doesn't appear until almost halfway through. But the scenes with her do have decent nail closeups.

I know many other films with awesome nails but can't think of them all right now, but I will update my list as I remember them.

I remember Tawny Kitaen had some great looking nails in two 80s movies, Instant Justice and Witchboard. I know she did some other movies around that time too, but I'm not sure if she had long nails in any of them.

I also know she's supposed to be in the next season of Surreal Life. It would be a dream come true if she did the show with long nails.

There was also a movie from the early 80s called Midnight Madness. I don't remember the actress' name but she did have nice long red nails, and although I haven't seen this movie in years and years I seem to remember that there were some good shots of them.

Of course with us all being 'nailomaniacs' one of the first things we all look for in a woman on the screen is her nails, but how many times have you noticed a breakdown in continuity between the scenes?

I'm pretty bad at remembering names of films, but so many time we see a woman getting into a car with longish nails on the right hand say, and in the next scene, supposedly 10 minutes later, these nails are gone, or are painted a different colour.

I think Hollywood should employ one of us to help keep track of the "Nail Detail" in movies.

Boomerang is a movie starring Eddie Murphy, Halle Berry, and Robyn Givens (who is the LNB here).
There is a scene where Robyn Givens visits Eddie. Here, her nails are painted a nice white/silvery colour. Then we see them in bed (supposedly that same evening), where her nails are now a bright Red colour. We then have the "next morning" scene, where her nails are back to being white/silver.
I kinda doubt any woman would paint her nails TWICE in one day!!! :confused:

I have also seen many movies where an actress has ok'ish to nothing special nails, and then when a close-up on an item she is holding is shown, it's almost as if it is not her hands at all we are seeing, cause the nails are most times beautifully manicured and/or long!! :confused:

Yes I've long noticed this too. I think in some cases they do employ "stunt" hands. i remember 10 or 15 years ago when the tennis player Steffi Graf was doing oil of ulay beauty adverts and she had to admit that they weren't her hands because they weren't ahem up to scratch.

Just a week or so ago I noticed in the Destinys Child 'Survivor' video Beyonce has creamy french nails for the whole video except for the 10 second shot when she is climbing out of the sea onto the beach when she has burgundy.

I have to aggree enervator. I have seem many movies where the close-up shot nails' are uglier than the normal action shots. Why this is so i have no idea. I'm sure the idea is that close-up shots nails should look better than the action shot nails, or just be consistant and use the same hands as in the action shots! :confused:

I, too, remember an episode of Ironsides where Ironsides' female assistant had long (at least, long for television) nails. But in a scene where a close-up of her hand holding a a note, the nails were short (though painted the same color). Then, in the long shot, her nails were back again.

My guess is that the people in charge of things either thought that her hands weren't pretty enough for the close-up OR (horror of horrors!) they were uncomfortable showing her long-nailed hands in close-up!

In the film Schooldaze we see some nice nails from Tisha Campell.And there is a trashmovie with a woman who looks like Elvira, she plays in a tv-whitch/horror show. I don't know the name of the movie, i remember that she wears pointy long black and red nails. Not a great movie though, but you can see her nails pretty good. The movie is based in LA i think.

I don't know How I forgot this movie but I did....and since it was on last week I watched it and here we go......

BLOODY MURDER 2 Katy Woodruff has some awesome frenches in this movie, although some scenes they appear shorter than others. Also there are some nice shots of nails on the girl who plays Angela though I can't remember her name. All in all I counted 21 closeups of Katy Woodruff's hands and nails in this movie, and no worries the nails aren't shorter in them.....they are perfectly crafted french. A must see!

Not a lot of closeups, but a few, including one where she squeezes Harry's (or is it Ron's?) face and the nails just sort of settle in nicely into his flesh. They're probably artificial, but Ms. Richardson wields them marvelously, in a sort of vampy, alluring/menacing way. She's great (so's the movie!), and she really uses her nails to highlight her devious character!

I was just about to post this. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I've seen it twice already.

Skeeter has some spectacular nails in the movie indeed. The kid whose face she squeezes is Cedric Diggory.

We all probibly know her in X-Men 2, but I saw her recently in a movie with Russell Crowe where she is an undercover cop. While she died early in the film, she sported some trully awesome fire engine red shiny nails, probibly about a 1/5 inch past the finger tip. :)
Also remember seeing her in Scorpion King with The Rock and if I remember correctly she had gold-coloured nails very similar to the length described above.

And Most of the pics I've seen of her on the Net has her with nails of a similar length (seems to me she loves her nails to be that length).

And besides, she is one hell of a sexy woman as well!! :D

It's been a few years since I read the book for this movie, but now I'm remembering reading about this character how she had long nails and I desperately hoped that whoever played her in the movie version would have long nails too but of course I just assumed that she wouldn't. I haven't seen this movie yet but now I'm really looking forward to it.

Oh yeah. I had forgotten how amazing Sharon Stone's nails were in that one. I wish she wore her nails long more often than just for that one movie. I enjoyed the film, but the only reason I even watched it was because I had seen her nails in it.

There's a movie called "Armed and Dangerous" starring John Candy and Eugene Levy, and in a couple of scenes in the middle of the movie Judy Landers is there, and she had some great looking nails. She was also in "Stewardess School", and I think (although I'm not sure since I haven't seen it in years) that she had long nails in that too.

In fact, if we're only discussing natural nails, this thread wouldn't even exist.

If you want to see real nails in movies, you have to look for 70's Chinese ones. Most Chinese actresses had long natural nails because it was like fashion around that time.

No Hollywood attresses have EVER had long natural nails (but Barbra Streisand) and 3/4 inches are too long to be true!

In fact, if we're only discussing natural nails, this thread wouldn't even exist.

If you want to see real nails in movies, you have to look for 70's Chinese ones. Most Chinese actresses had long natural nails because it was like fashion around that time.

So...have you SEEN the movie? Because if you haven't, then you're making that proclamation out of sheer ignorance and making yourself look pretty stupid. Why don't you see the movie, and while you're at it, watch EVERY hollywood "attresses" movie and make sure that NONE of them had long natural nails.

Another Nail alert...

In the movie Honey, an actress who plays a Banking Consultant towards the end of the movie appears with nice red oval nails. Cannot say for sure if the nails are real, but they look the part alright. Not many sightings of her nails in the movie though, but she appears frequently towards the end of the movie. :)

Yesterday on WE channel they showed the movie "The Main Event" with Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neil. Barbra sports long nails throughout the movie in red and towards the end just clear. It seems that we must keep an eye out for Kelly Hu as she seems to be an actress that regularly sports nice nails. :cool:

We all probibly know her in X-Men 2, but I saw her recently in a movie with Russell Crowe where she is an undercover cop. While she died early in the film, she sported some trully awesome fire engine red shiny nails, probibly about a 1/5 inch past the finger tip. :)
Also remember seeing her in Scorpion King with The Rock and if I remember correctly she had gold-coloured nails very similar to the length described above.

And Most of the pics I've seen of her on the Net has her with nails of a similar length (seems to me she loves her nails to be that length).

I watched the movie Road Trip today and one of the characters gets hit on and eventually gets it on with this chick. I've got one for you, saw it on Showtime on Demand, part of the Masters of Horror series. The basic story is about some kind of half demon (meaning her face is ugly as hell, but she has a HOT body), that a guy takes in and messes up his life. She has fake nails, but is constantly stroking him with them and sticking them in his mouth while they have sex. The director is a nail fetishist for sure. Check it out if you have on demand. Worth it, even if they are fake.

I saw a flawless set of 1" long, slight curve, squared-at-the-tip, fire engine red nails on a drop dead gorgeous latina in a movie entitled "Bullet." It's from 1996 and starred Mickey Rourke & Tupac Shakur. The actress in question, Heather Laszlo, hooks up with Mickey at a bar and they go to a motel room. Poor Mickey can't "get it up." Considering this girl's standing as a "10" in anyone's book, how embarrasing for Mickey, LOL.

This movie is worth a look, if for nothing else but the few shots of these nails.

I only remember watching this movie when I was very young, but this was the first movie where I saw metal nails that were in fact not attachments on the fingers of the lady. These nails look like they were implanted/replaced this lady's real nails. VERY lethal looking i must add!! Wonder how she manages to do things without lacerating herself to pieces!! hehehehe

Actually, that's increasingly the case today. I find that in Japanese and Chinese films, it's they style for the actresses to have pretty long nails (not sure about Korea). They tend to be gorgeous, often scantily clad, too.

Definitely one of the best long nails films, is this guilty-pleasure adult-themed Japanese movie, "A Queendom of the Eros." My buddy in Japan said it's one of the favorites of many of the expats there. :p The acting and plot are a bit silly at times, but the women are incredible-- it's basically a group of 5 beautiful Japanese women, many with sexy long nails themselves, who work in concert with the queen herself, played by a stunner named Miki Komori, who not only sports sexy long nails and nail art in many of her pictorials, but has the flexibility of a gymnast and shows it! A wildly sexy film.

Speaking of Japanese films (which by and large are probably the best as far as having gorgeous-- and scantily-clad-- actresses with long nails ), another magnificent production is called "Kick." It's hard to describe, not really a movie as much as a sort of documentary/music video of a dancing/singing group called "Lucky Legs" which I've been told, has been popular in Japan for several years.

Anyway, one of their members then was a stunning beauty with the name of Mutsumi Kawamura who, AFAIK is still modeling in some capacity. She has gorgeous long hair and mesmerizing full lips, with incredibly long nails that she has polished and done up in nail art and nail jewelry (at least in some of her pictorials-- don't recall in "Kick" exactly but they're fantastic nonetheless) in many versions. The camera in "Kick" is often positioned in a way to alternate between her beautiful face and nails.

AFAIK you can get the DVD at one of those companies that does business between US and Japan-- IIRC Poker Industries, J-List, maybe a few others. Just a couple of suggestions that strictly aren't nail-related but involve scratching / claws.....

Firstly, in Back To The Future 2 there is a girl in Biff's gang who wears long claws strapped to a few of her fingers, one of which she runs down Marty McFly's body before lifting him up on the claw and dumping him behind a counter. There are also a couple of brief scenes where Marty starts answering back to Biff and the girl is stood with the other members of the gang wiggling her fingers with the claws attached ready to attack. I also remember the woman who sells Marty the sports almanac had long nails.

Secondly, 'Around The World In 80 Days' that has Jackie Chan in it had a character called General Fang, a Chinese villainess who wears long gold claws on her fingers in the early part of the movie, and then very long black nail extensions in the fight scene towards the end.

Finally, in the pilot episode of the American series 'Dark Angel', there is a woman in the episode called Lydia who is having a secret affair with somebody's boyfriend. She has very long red nails (with the pinky nail on one hand pierced) and she threatens the main female character with them, after telling her about the scratches she left on the guy's back.

Similar are the two 'Legally Blonde' films and Reese Witherspoon's nails.....

A slightly more obscure film is 'The Living Dead Girl' - a French horror film that is available on DVD in the UK (and presumably the US too). The story revolves around a dead woman who is resurrected and goes round killing people with her very long nails - worth seeing if you haven't already.

Finally, the film 'Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD' stars a female villainess with decent nails, but one of her pinky nails is very long (at least an inch past the tip) which she uses to point at people.

-Jamie Lee Curtis had beautiful long fake red nails in Trading Spaces
-Coneheads had a woman in a scene ("Latice" or something) where she's driving in a car with Beldar (sp?) and sports beautiful long red fake nails
-Typhoid Mary has nice shiny blue fake nails in Elektra
-In Dr. Dolittle 2 Eddie Murphy's oldest daughter always has fake nails, and for my memory they were first red, then purple, then had some white (I think it's called a french manicure, you see it a lot), then light blue
-In Darkman II the lead female protagonist has fake red nails
-Cruella De Ville has fake nails in 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians, but I don't remember any really good shots in 101 (I haven't seen much of the 102 movie), and it would've been nice if she wasn't always wearing the gloves
-In Superman Returns Katheryn/Kitty always has fake nails

Some overall sad and frustrating ones:

-In the new Around the World in 80 Days, the villainess has very long black-ish nails, but when fighting Jackie Chan, she's tricked into lunging her hands into some kind of sandbag, and when she pulls them out her fake nails are gone. :mad: :(
-Spider-Man 2 shows a Korean nurse getting pulled across the floor (in the Doc Ock hospital attack scene) and as her nails scrape across the floor they are worn down and ruined. Dang dang dang. :mad: :(

Varies, I guess. For example, Rebecca de Mornay had incredible nails in "An Inconvenient Woman," but was a heroine. Same for Holly Hunter in the Firm, Barb Wire, Vampirella, lots of other examples. Majority of times I think they're heroines, though some villainesses in there, too.

Mostly, the problem IMHO is that American and British culture frown on women with long nails, so we don't see it much among the top stars. Whereas, in the media of Latin American countries, Germany, Taiwan, China, Korea and Japan, long nails on women are associated with beauty, so we see it a lot more in both heroines and villainesses in general.

Yes I've long noticed this too. I think in some cases they do employ "stunt" hands. i remember 10 or 15 years ago when the tennis player Steffi Graf was doing oil of ulay beauty adverts and she had to admit that they weren't her hands because they weren't ahem up to scratch.

Just a week or so ago I noticed in the Destinys Child 'Survivor' video Beyonce has creamy french nails for the whole video except for the 10 second shot when she is climbing out of the sea onto the beach when she has burgundy.

I couldn't believe I hadn't picked up on it before :-)

Hello everyone!

I looked through the long nail movie thread and I don't think anyone has listed any of there...

Sword of the Valiant (1984) – Movie where a young squire has a year to become a man and solve a riddle or face his demise at the hand of the Green Knight (played by Sean Connery). The actress who plays Morgan La Fay has nice long red nails that she runs up and down the squire’s armor as she tempts him early in the movie. The movie is an interesting fantasy, I recommend it.


The Cincinnati Kid (1965) – A Steve McQueen film, where he plays a young poker player who’ll take on anyone at anytime. Ann Margret, has great nails throughout the entire film. This film is terrific, I highly recommend even without Ann Margret’s great nails.


Diamonds are Forever (1971) - A typical Bond film, if my memory serves me correctly. But there is a great close up of long nails when Jill St. John gets Sean Connery’s fingerprints off his wine glass. I don’t believe St. John has great nails in the film but whoever the actress is who is used for the fingerprinting insert shot does. If you like bond films I recommend it, but I don’t think that the one long nail clip really justifies renting the movie.


Coming to America (1988) - In this Eddie Murphy comedy, there are at least two long nailed women. The first is the actress who plays Lisa McDowell (the love interest) – her nails stand out when her and Murphy are dancing in a restaurant. The second is the girl that Murphy is betrothed to (at the beginning of the movie), the girl that he makes (“hop on one leg…., now bark like a dog…”), she has nice long nails if my memory serves me correctly. It’s a great comedy, if you haven’t seen it.


The Man Who Loved Women (1983) – A silly romantic comedy, where Burt Reynolds seeks the help of a psychiatrist, played by Julie Andrews, for his depression problems. Julie Andrews has nice fake nails throughout. And the movie is actually kind of interesting & funny, but a far cry from the French original – L’ Homme qui aimait les femmes (1977) – a much better movie, but no long nails :-(


The Lady from Shanghai (1947) – Rita Hayworth has great nails in this movie, which can be seen when she’s smoking in multiple scenes. The movie is rather disappointing considering it was written and directed by Orson Welles. But it wasn’t his fault; the studio changed the scenes and the musical score. But for some reason I still like this film, but it’s not one of Welles’s best works.


Being There (1979) – A rather dry Peter Sellers Comedy, which is a little bit on the artsy side. Shirley MacLaine has great nails, which can be seen throughout the movie. An entertaining movie but doesn’t have the kind of slap stick humor that one would expect from Peter Sellers.


The Birds (1963) – I think most of us have seen this Hitchcock thriller. Tippi Hedren has some great natural nails.


Dracula 2000 (2000) – The Vampire babes in this movie have some great nails. There is one scene where Jennifer Esposito digs one of her long nails into the face of Jonny Lee Miller as he’s on the verge of having his blood suck out of him. A rather good, contemporary Dracula movie.


Love Actually (2003) – When the mail boy, Colin, travels to Wisconsin to meet sexy American girls he runs into three hot girls at a bar, one played by Ivana Milicevic who has great long nails. The movie is really quite good, although it may be hard for some guys to admit.


Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) – A dark fantasy, geared towards younger audiences, starring Jason Robards. At one point Robards character has a heart attack brought on by the spell of The Dust Witch (played by Pam Grier). Grier has nice long nails, there are a few close-ups, especially one where she casts the spell on Robards.


The Stand (1994) – Molly Ringwald has long nails throughout the movie. However, this is a 6-hour movie/mini-series. And I don’t think Ringwald’s nails are so great that you should invest the time in it. But if you absolutely love Steven King adapted films, you may want to.

Let's admit it. There are movies you see just to look at an actress where she is just more beautiful than she already is. 'Cat on a hot tin roof' is such a movie for Elisabeth Taylor, as is 'Gilda' for Rita Hayworth.

'Un inconvenient woman' is just that kind of star-vehicle for Rebecca De Mornay (a fine actress most people will know as the evil babysitter in 'The hand that rocks the cradle'). It's obvious that director Larry Elikann loves her looks, and constantly lets the camera zoom in on her radiant face, her well-shaped hands with beautiful, (very) long red nails and her magnificent figure in perfect fitting coat and skirts. I don't object, and I bet neither will most other male viewers.

But apart from Rebecca, is this a good movie? No, not really. Firstly, it's been made for television and it's aim seems to please soap-loving people. In fact it's a lush, 'kitchy' two-part miniseries and its sentimentality is almost unbearable. Secondly, the fact that this movie's subject (SPOILER)is a waitress who because of her social status can never achieve anything in a rich men's world, but who has a heart of gold can be enough reason to leave this movie unseen.

It's a miracle that in this kind of movie all the parts are casted perfectly with remarkable performances by Jason Kobards and Jill Eikenberry. Only Roddy McDowell in his role as a gossip journalist is nothing more than a caricature. De Mornay is outstanding as waitress Flo and levels up with Kobards as her rich older lover.

Just because of the great acting abilities by veteran actors in combination with Rebecca De Mornay at her ultra-sexy best I can recommend this entertaining but shallow movie.

It's not exactly a movie, but maybe it's close enough. Back in the 80s they came out with a Clue VCR game, and the actress who played Miss Scarlet had some beautiful long nails. I no longer have the video in my possession, and haven't in many years, so I'm going by memory but I definitely remember being seriously excited and watching her scenes over and over. I actually just found out recently that there was a Clue 2 VCR game, with the same VCR, so she might have long nails in that as well but since I've never seen it, I can't vouch for that.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned these two movies, but AMC has been showing lots of Alfred Hitchcock stuff over the past month. Tippi Hedren (mother of actress Melanie Griffith) stars in both The Birds and Marnie. And both movies include lots of great shots of her VERY beautiful nails. Watch them if you get the chance. :)

Well, the videos of my screaming nails are finally
posted. There are two videos...one of screaming nails
and one more of just tapping. The videos were done
this summer when spinnie did his Nail Tour 2007. If
you need me to send links to the yahoo groups, please
do let me know.

I was so glad that spinnie could fit me in when he did
the summer tour. We had a wonderful dinner and did not
even take pics. We just talked and talked and talked.
For those of you that know me...yes, I know... I love
to talk. We woke in the morning and spinnie would
continue on his journey, he was on to the next LNB (I
think it was Cleo) and I was running late for work as
I usually do. IMHO 7:45 is just plain old early. I was
asked to stop and take just a few moments to do the
video. I could not be more pleased that I did...even
if it caused me to be a little later than the norm.

Of course, because long nails are "evil." I'm actually impressed that she seems to have them long in the movie itself, and not just for the poster. If anyone actually sees this, I'd love to know how they look.

Two movies that I don't think have been mentioned.

1) "Slums of Beverly Hills" - Jessica Walters has very nice nails in this movie and Alan Arkins character in the movie comments to his daughter how beautiful they are.

2) "Friday the 13th - Part 7" (i think it Part 7) - Great scene near the very end of the movie of a nurse in a hospital filing her long red nails.

I could have missed it but A Few Good Men is another one. Holly Hunter sports some great nails but then towards the end cuts them down.

Nicole Kidman's got some very nice nails. She's the villainness, of course, so the nails are an immediate giveaway to her ruthlessness. But they look like opals, and we see quite a lot of her hands in tight framing of her general shots (at those prices, you get as much eye mileage out of her as you can, I guess). She's cold and glorious overall and the nails really work for her.

No Hollywood attresses have EVER had long natural nails (but Barbra Streisand) and 3/4 inches are too long to be true!

In fact, if we're only discussing natural nails, this thread wouldn't even exist.

If you want to see real nails in movies, you have to look for 70's Chinese ones. Most Chinese actresses had long natural nails because it was like fashion around that time.
