Happy Birthday Diorra!

"Hands Across The Water, Hands Across the Sky"

We're just reflecting back on our recent trip to Bucharest in general today as we have 5 remaining pictures that I don't think we posted in the past.

I just wanted to say once again what a fantastic 5 days it was. It started out very badly as some of you know already. My original flight was delayed a day because I could not make a connection in New York because of lightning at JFK airport. Instead of doing the New York direct to Bucharest flight, I was sent to Atlanta Georgia and then on to Paris of all godforsaken places. If you ever want to penalize someone, send them to Charles De Gaulle Airport and tell them they need to get from Terminal B to Terminal E. Come back for them in a week and they'll still be on that damn bus. At any rate, from Paris, we went directly to Bucharest. Upon arriving at Bucharest, it was a really quick exit out the door for a smoke as it had taken 24 hours for me to get there, almost to the minute. Exactly 24 hours, 10 minutes in fact.

The time in Bucharest was such a pleasure. I met Mihaela outside the door along with her slave Raoull. they transported me to my hotel, we had refreshments and planned the night that was to come. A few hours later, they returned to pick me up and off we went to a pizza place to meet up with Francoise, Soren and Marco. We had refreshments there, then decided to head to a pub, and we walked a a few km and got to The Tropikana. I took my first picture there of the menu - can you tell all that Leni Cano training and all those Rhett From Fetishnails seminars and all those other tips and tricks came into play here as this magnificent photo was my first one on this trip :)

We spent about an hour or so at this Tropikana place. It was an outside pub, the weather was perfect. But something was lacking. A few of the people put their heads together and off we went to find another livelier place where we could have a good time. The rest is history as you've all read about our night at the Zefir Karoke Bar.

Sunday was a quiet day as Soren and Marco were leaving and were actually gone before I even knew it. I hadn't asked about the Sunday plans and missed that whole thing. At any rate, this Sunday night Mihaela, Roull and I had a pizza dinner at one of Mihaela's favorite places.

Monday of course was the big day for me, and you've read about all that stuff in the previous updates. So much stuff happened on that Sunday that I forgot to mention too. Just one day jammed full of excitement that ended half way into Tuesday.

I have a few pictures here that I am not sure I posted before. First let's look at what we all came here for, here are three marvelous pictures of you-know-who taken during that Walk In The Park. Notice the last picture - I asked Francoise to give me an angry mad face, look really evil and cruel. This was the best she could come up with.

Also, forgive me if you saw these, but we actually found two hotels close togehter here, just as we were to enter the park area for that walk. We had just walked from The Old Town district and came upon these two buildings, across the stree from each other. Just a thought that some might consider these hotels as places to stay in 2008.

Well, aside from telling you that I left on Tuesday at 2pm and endured the 9 hour and 45 minute flight direct to New York, with a stopover at JFK for three hours and then on to Toronto for the one hour flight, that's about it.

Even though you've seen all the images from the first ever Euro Nail Convention held in Bucharest, I am sure you'll be hearing the tales from the journey for years to come. I was very proud to be part of it and very proud to be with such a wonderful group of people in Bucharest Romania.

Francoise, Mihaela, Julianna, Agnes, Soren, Marco. Thank You!
