FK Personal Collection
Just before we head off to Nail Land in Europe, we found a few minutes to do this very unusual update. This update is the result of a very unusual, unexpected package of mail from a reader of Nailbytes.
About a week ago I visited the Nailbytes snail mailbox, I had not checked for mail there in about a month or so. In the mailbox was a note from the guy running the post office location, telling me I had received a package too large to fit into the box.
I signed for the box, and curiously read the return address on the package - it was not familiar, it was not from a town I had heard of, and as I raced home to open it, my mind conjuered up all kinds of scenarios. As it turns out, the package was sent to me by a reader in a Southeastern USA State. In the box were four envelopes and one package.
Cutting to the chase .... I have received about 100 pictures from a reader, made up of about 4 foot models, all of them from Europe or the Middle East, as far as I can tell. There is no note. There is no letter. There is no indication as to who this is, who the models are, or why he sent it to me in the first place. I have received actual photographs, so they need to be scanned.
It appears to me that this person has sent off his prized personal collection to me, and I assume I am welcome to post it all on the website. As I mentioned before, I am assuming everything.
Receiving an entire collection from a person is nothing new to me. If we turn the clock back about 8 or 9 years, I received the entire NailShow collection from UK one day, complete with pictures, negatives and it was all sorted and labelled, etc.
So, today I was sitting here wondering what to do. What I have done so far is scan 12 pictures, three each of the model collections. Eventually I'll post all the pictures although many of them are very similar. But we'll see how it goes.
If anyone wants me to scan them all, please let know. I'll get to it in June probably.
Oh yes, and two more things, first - I also have some unprocessed pictures or film negatives in the package too, you'll see that scanbelow as well. And lastly, I also scanned a picture of the contents of the "package" that was received within the big package. There are 20 of those rubber things I have now and I will probably only use half of them as about 10 of them are Magnum XL size and lord knows I'd need some kind of enhancement to keep those XL's on :)
FK, if you are reading this, please contact me as I'd like to know more about this collection. Thanks to the contributor for sending this in.
And here is one of the film strips I received, I need to get these processed ..... fat chance that's gonna happen!
